"Vito"

October 20, 2002 - November 8, 2003

Just one year old!
We struggled and this was the hardest decision
we have ever had to make.
Vito would look at us with glassy, glazed over eyes,
as if he was asking us to let him go.
That day will be forever etched in our memory.
I'm so sorry Vito,
we didn't want to see you suffer anymore!

Vito's Story

Vito, I can't believe this happened to you. We miss you so much! Sometimes it's impossible to stop crying. Thank you for coming into our lives and letting us love you for one year... we should have had many more. It is so unfair that we only got you for one year. We think abaout you everyday, the funny things you used to do, the way you totally ignored us when we called you, the many holidays we won't be able to have you in our lives.

We have your ashes on our dresser, sometimes I put them in bed with us, as you used to like to lay longways to take up more room then the others that are bigger they you were.

We love you more than you will ever know, I feel like I've lost my child. I hope when I see you again you don't look at me with your big, sad eyes wondering why this had to happen to you, for I don't know.

I think God needed some beautiful angels in heaven to take care of!

"Ike"

November 24, 2002 - January 3, 2004

As the sun rises on January 4th, the rooster still crows & the goats are stirring. Ike's happy nature lingers in the air & the morning begins as any other. But a sadness slowly settles over the farm as the reality of Ike's sudden death yesterday becomes apparent when he misses his cue in the morning play. The absence of our over-zealous, enthusiastic, fun-loving, tail-wagging oaf stirs questions that cannot be answered. In the unseasonably warm, thick, morning air Emmett keeps a vigilant watch for his buddy's return. Ike will not return.

Survived by Emmett (who received PH6 the same day)

Ike, a Harlequin Great Dane was the picture of health. He had been on heartworm preventative and had his heartworm tests before receiving his first and only ProHeart 6 injection on December 26, 2003. He died suddenly with no warning or symptoms, while napping on January 3, 2004..

Our vet said Ike died from 'cadiomyopathy.' He said he fainted/passed out and died. From my research, only a small percentage of dogs with cardiomyopathy will die suddenly during rigorous activity, but it is unusual for a dog as young as Ike. Usually it is large dogs 4-10 years old.

I cannot prove that one caused the other, but it is our opinion that ProHeart 6 was at least a contributing factor, if not the reason for this tragedy. I will never use ProHeart again. I will continue to avidly inform others as to theitg risks involved with this product.

Please research & give careful consideration before using ProHeart6.
