2007 is just around the corner!
With it will bring many new things... including the re-structuring of DogsAdverseReactions. All the information will still be there, but it will be formatted differently, easier to find and URL's may change. It has been active for almost four years and in that time we've expanded by leaps and bounds. In four years I've learned a lot on website design and hope to be able to put it to good use.

November's FDA/CVM ADE numbers posted
In the last edition "Awareness Day" in PA was mentioned. It was fantastic to meet some of the people I've communicated with! Check out what happened along with some pictures.
Rabies Challenge Fund: Evergreen Empire Manchester Terrier Fanciers had contributed $1,000!! Please remember people, this fund will hep finance two concurrent canine rabies vaccine challenge studies (5 & 7 years), a study of canine rabies vaccine adjuvants and a rabies adverse reactions reporting system. The primary purpose is to see if they have longer immunity then currently established. the RCF website should be up and running by Thanksgiving!
Changes can be and are being made! Please read "ASPCA Applauds Gov. Rendell’s Proactive Steps to Improve Animal Welfare in Pennsylvania". Also read about "PROPOSED RULEMAKING
- STATE BOARD OF VETERINARY MEDICINE" regarding record keeping.
It presses the vets to log things much better, and note #4 requires the vet to
discuss treatments and drugs with the client.
From Veterinary Practice News: "Roundtable: Communicating about Pharmaceuticals" Interesting conversation between vets.
Videos online: In Quinlan TX there is a dog called "Skidboot." I've watched the video and he is absoutely amazing! Dog plays Simon Says game with kids (and wins!). Of course there are "Talking Dogs"
Last edition we had articles on microchips. Still debating about it? Since then I've found: "To Microchip or Not To Microchip: That IS the Question" Now just out: "Company trying to get under soldiers’ skin" (yes, with microchips).
CBS4 Denver - Dog Owner Continue To Cite Problems With Deramaxx "The popular dog drug Deramaxx continues to generate controversy in Colorado and across the country four years after its introduction. Some dog owners are saying the drug has frightening side effects."
A three part series on About.com "Pain Medications for Dogs / Arthritis Medications for Dogs -- Be an Informed Pet Owner" "It's important for pet owners to be aware of the risks and benefits of all drugs, including NSAIDs, so that they can make informed decisions about their pets' health care," says Sundlof. "Owners who give their dog NSAIDs need to know the side effects to watch for that indicate their pet needs medical attention."
The first Virtual Dog Expo was held a while back. CD's are available. A diverse group of speakers, but on a variety of all dog-related topics. The
event organizers, Kim Bloomer and Jeannie Thomason of the online radio show, Animal Talk Naturally, brought together this venue of excellent speakers to help those who live and work with, and LOVE dogs to be better informed for the health and well being of their dogs. MRSA, ever hear of it? VERY scary.

Anyone reading this, probably does a lot of work on a computer, reading, writing, email, instant messages etc. E-cards are well used also! Deb of Pet Advocate 101 has a new section of them for anyone to use and at the same time remind others of the possibility of dangers from drugs. She also has a new page "Pet Advocates Town Hall for Florida" Thanks Deb!
