Cybrarian....
doing history and research by way of the Internet. I use to
work for a large marketing firm, where I achieved most of
my experience in that realm.
When I met
my husband approximately five years ago, he knew I already
had a love in my life. He was warned to deal with it. When
he met "Velvet," he fell in love with her also.
When we were married, it was the 'three' of us. When we went
into driving cross country, it was the three of us.
Enter six
month preventative: "Velvet" has always been very
'protected' due to our travels. When she went in for her yearly
exam, they were 'out of' her normal preventative, and because
we were leaving right away I couldn't wait till the next shipment,
thus receiving the six month injection (I knew my daughter
had used it previously). Texas to California and "Velvet"
started getting ill. Two different vets told us it could NOT
be the injection. But I won't go into all that, it is on her
website. We were lucky, after a monthVelvet didn't get any
worse.
Time for research:
In September 2003, I allowed my husband (a great guy!) to
learn 'solo driving' and stayed with my daughter in Texas,
giving me time to play on the Internet. The rest is history.
Laurryn +
Internet + Velvet + injection = website.
Thru I-dog
and the Internet, I learned. I have learned cases are not
as isolated as we are led to believe. I have learned we may
be in a 1% range, but what is 1% of all the doses they say
are sold? That is still a lot of Guardians and companions.
I have learned there are other drugs that people are not informed
about. I have learned things we take for granted .... shouldn't
be taken for granted.
If, as an
experienced Cybrarian ... it was difficult for me to learn
or find information ... it would be more difficult for others
to become informed, unless I could find a way to make it easier
for them.
Can I prove
anything? No, other then the facts that are posted (i.e. heartworm
cycle, FDA reports). No, I am not a vet, I am not a lawyer,
I am not in any medical field and I am not a scientist.
Do I or any
one I know, work for any kind of drug company? NO!
Will anyone
I personally know use these drugs?
Possibly.
If they do,
it will be an 'informed' decision, they will know what the
possible side-effects are and what to watch for, with the
knowledge I have found and passed on to them.
